By the turn of the century, our store became known as "the place to go for things hard to find. " In 1926, Hammacher Schlemmer began to add luxury housewares to the already famous product line. Always innovative, the store was the first to carry the steam iron, electric dry shaver, pop-up toaster, microwave oven and many more "firsts" over the ensuing years.

Much has changed at Hammacher Schlemmer. We have evolved from a hardware store in the Bowery to one of America's oldest, most venerated retailers.
